Oscar's Grind System

The Oscar's Grind system is a relatively recent strategy compared to others. Its fame began during the early era of computers and it was successfully tested in a simulation of 280,000 roulette spins conducted in 1956 on the IBM 790 computer.

However, it’s important to note that this test assumed vast financial reserves and enormous emotional resilience—conditions that may not be realistic for all players.

System Principle

The system is based on the following rules:

• Bet 1 chip on the chosen color. If you win, the series ends and you start over.
• If you lose, the next bet will equal the amount lost.
• When you win, increase your next bet by 1 chip.
• Continue this process until you achieve a profit of 1 chip.

Example

Let’s assume the following series of bets:

• 1. Bet 1 chip and lose → Total: -1
• 2. Bet 1 chip and win → Total: 0
• 3. Bet 1 chip and lose → Total: -1
• 4. Bet 1 chip and lose → Total: -2
• 5. Bet 1 chip and lose → Total: -3
• 6. Bet 1 chip and win → Total: -2
• 7. Bet 2 chips and win → Total: 0
• 8. Bet 1 chip and lose → Total: -1
• 9. Bet 1 chip and win → Total: 0
• 10. Bet 1 chip and win → Total: +1
