HOW TO PLAY ROULETTE? ROULETTE RULES

Basics and rules of roulette, types and betting systems, combinations, tips and recommendations.

1. What is the game of Roulette about?

The game consists of a spinning wheel usually called a cylinder, divided into randomly numbered slots from 0 to 36, a ball launched inside the cylinder by the dealer, a table layout where the numbers from the cylinder are displayed in order, and on which players place their chips (with different monetary values) in different zones to place their bets.

The aim of the game is to predict the number or zone where the ball will stop in each round, by betting beforehand. Therefore, to be successful and increase your chances of winning money, mastering the art of betting is essential.

In roulette, as in most betting games, knowledge and information are power. In this regard, WINNERS gives you the opportunity to enjoy the best and only personal roulette assistant that adapts (live) to your game table, offering real-time relevant information to place your bets with much more confidence.

2. How does the game unfold?

Each round consists of three phases, usually announced by the dealer's words and actions:

First: "Place your bets"
At the start of each round, players have a short time to place their bets, which ends when the dealer closes the round by saying “No more bets”. Players are not required to bet every round, only when they choose to.

Second: "Ball launch"
This phase begins when the dealer launches the ball into the spinning cylinder and ends when it stops in a numbered slot — that number is the winner.

Third: "Payout"
The dealer removes the losing chips and pays out winnings to the winners.

As we can see, the betting round is crucial for the player; the rest is a matter of luck. That’s why, as we mentioned, if you want to increase your chances of success in roulette, going beyond gut feelings and false hunches, you need to know not only the types of bets but also practice some of the betting systems that are helping professional players win more money.

Winners makes the whole process easier from the beginning, helping you configure the betting system that best suits your playing style and budget — and even lets you, why not, create your own betting system.

That said, before playing with real money, make sure your betting system works. With Winners’ betting simulator it’s easy and quick. In just a few minutes, you’ll know if your system is profitable, with no need to take risks.

3. Types of bets

One of roulette’s biggest attractions — and the reason it remains the top game of chance — is its simplicity combined with the large number of bets and combinations players can freely make, along with the corresponding variety of prizes depending on the type of bet.

There are various types of bets on the table (reds, odds, etc.), but there’s also the option of betting based on the number layout on the cylinder, known as the racetrack.

Above all, it’s important to note that each player can place several bets at once and use as many types of bets as they like in a single round.

Also, as we’ll see later, the lower the probability of winning a bet, the higher the payout.

TABLE BETS

Outside bets

Outside bets are those placed in the unnumbered areas of the table; they cover multiple numbers that share a characteristic: red/black (A), even/odd (B), low/high (C), dozen (D), and column (E).

Among outside bets, simple bets are those placed on red/black, even/odd, or low/high. These have a “50%” chance of winning per spin. They are the easiest, hence the name.

Dozens and columns have a “33%” chance of winning, so they pay more than simple bets. We’ll discuss payouts for each type of bet shortly.

Inside bets

Inside bets are placed in the numbered areas of the board and can cover one or more numbers depending on their position: the line (or six-line) (F) covers 6 numbers in two adjacent rows; the corner (or square) (G) covers the 4 surrounding numbers; the street (H) covers 3 numbers in a row; the split (I) covers 2 numbers; and the straight up (J) covers a single number and offers the highest payout.

RACETRACK BETS (cylinder number distribution)

Racetrack bets are based on the actual arrangement of numbers on the cylinder, rather than the table layout. These bets cover specific sectors of the cylinder.

The main advantage of betting by the cylinder’s number layout is that it allows players to visually estimate or “predict” where the ball may land based on the dealer’s throw style, force, or the cylinder’s speed.

To enable this, casinos provide a representation of the cylinder’s number layout in addition to the main betting table.

Classic bets

Classic bets are the most common and have traditionally been suggested by casinos. They divide the cylinder into four segments: zero, neighbors of zero, orphans, and third. Based on this division, the following bets can be made:

  • Zero: Bet on numbers immediately next to zero (including zero).
  • Neighbors: Covers a wider range of numbers around zero — nearly half the cylinder.
  • Third: Covers a third of the cylinder.
  • Orphans: Numbers not part of zero, neighbors, or third — hence called orphans.

Classic bets (4 uneven sectors)

The disadvantage of classic bets is that casinos have strategically divided the cylinder into 4 uneven and disproportionate zones. Each zone contains a different number of slots, making it hard for players to estimate or predict the chances of the ball landing in one zone or another. For example, the "Orphans" zone covers fewer numbers than the "Neighbors", and they are not adjacent — some are on one side of the cylinder and some on the other.

That’s why Winners has implemented the following solution in its assistant:

Winners sector bets

Since classic bets divide the cylinder into uneven and unfair sectors, Winners has decided to integrate into its roulette assistant the ability for players to divide the cylinder into equal sectors of their choice and predict in which one the ball will land.

This is something casinos didn’t count on — giving players a significant advantage with this type of cylinder-based betting.

OTHER TYPES OF BETS

In addition to all the betting types mentioned, whether on the table or based on cylinder sectors, players often create their own combinations and strategies, such as the following:

Finals bets

This involves betting on a set of numbers that end in the same digit. For example, "finals of 3" means betting on 3, 13, 23, and 33. There are two types of finals bets:

  • a) Single-digit finals, placed as straight-up bets. E.g., finals of 5: straight 5, 15, 25, 35.
  • b) Double-digit finals, placed with split bets if the numbers are adjacent, and straight-up bets otherwise. E.g., finals 1/2: split 1/2, 11/12, straight 21, 22, split 31/32.

The Widow

This is a combination of 5 chips covering one number and skipping two on the layout. It consists of the following 5 bets: street 4/6, split 7/8, straight 14, split 22/25, and corner 32/36.

Full number bet

This is a full number bet, covering a straight number and all numbers around it on the layout. It may require 12 chips if it’s a central number, or 9 if it’s on the edge. The complete bet includes:

  • a) A straight bet on the chosen number.
  • b) All splits covering the number (4 for a central number, 3 for a side number).
  • c) All corners covering the number (4 for central, 2 for side).
  • d) The street covering the number.
  • e) The two six-lines covering the number.

4. Prizes and winnings

Up to this point, we’ve seen different types of bets, and as shown in the graphic, the higher the chance of winning, the lower the payout:

6. How to know when, how much, and what to bet on in Roulette?

Casinos and betting houses typically offer players certain data based on previous rounds. This includes the history of recent numbers, a list of "hot" and "cold" numbers (those appearing more or less frequently), and frequency percentages for red/black, even/odd, low/high, etc. However, they don’t show the order in which these zones appear — a very valuable piece of information that allows you to visually identify frequency patterns and predict likely future outcomes. With Winners, you not only have all the data needed to place smarter bets, but you can also rest assured that the information is accurate and unmanipulated.

Based on the betting system you’ve chosen or configured in Winners, and the numbers that have come up in your gaming session — which you’ll input into the app each round — the assistant will tell you in real-time when, how much, and what to bet. It’s that simple!
